Privacy Policy

The Arborist Group is an independent arborist consulting practice. This page explains what personal information we collect through arboristgroup.com and the client portal, why we collect it, and how to contact us about it. We handle personal information under Canadian privacy law, and we do not sell it.

What we collect

Quote requests. When you request a quote, we collect the contact details and project information you enter. We use them to reply to you and to do the work.

Client portal. Partners who use the portal give us their account details and the job information they submit, such as property addresses, client contact details, tree notes and photos.

Text and WhatsApp. These links open your own messaging app. Your carrier or WhatsApp handles that conversation under their own terms.

Property lookup tool. The map tool sends the address you search to a mapping provider and to public municipal data services so it can show lot and tree information. It needs no account or contact details.

Site usage. We use analytics, including session recordings, to see how people use the site and to improve it. These tools can use cookies or similar browser storage. We set them up to hide what you type into forms.

Technical logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security and performance.

Who handles it

We use service providers for hosting, storage, email, analytics, maps and spam protection. They process personal information for us so this site and the portal can run.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, mainly in the United States. Information held there can be accessible to courts, law enforcement and other authorities under local law.

We share personal information only with these providers, with others where the work you asked for needs it, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep records for as long as we need them for the work and for our business, legal and tax records.

Your choices

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email info@arboristgroup.com or call (647) 479-8778. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it.

You can block analytics with your browser settings or an extension. The site works without it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when the current version took effect.

Land and shoreline on our other tree rule map are adapted from Statistics Canada, 2021 Census cartographic boundary files. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.
