What these credentials mean for your report
ISA certification is the standard municipalities expect to see on an arborist report across Southern Ontario. Most municipalities require that reports submitted for tree permit applications be signed by an ISA Certified Arborist. The certification number goes on every report we issue and can be confirmed through ISA's public directory.
Independence is the other factor. Because The Arborist Group does no hands-on tree work, there is no financial incentive to push any particular outcome. The report reflects what we find on site. Municipal forestry reviewers recognize consulting-only firms, and that recognition tends to translate into fewer back-and-forth requests during the permit review process.
ASCA membership reinforces that consulting focus at an organizational level. ASCA arborists specialize in objective assessments and reporting, not tree work. That combination of ISA certification and ASCA membership is the professional standard for consulting arborists who prioritize report accuracy over any other outcome.
