Construction and development arborist reports in Metro Vancouver

Construction and development files in Metro Vancouver are by request. We look at the site plan and the municipality's rules first, then confirm per project whether we can write the report.

The Vancouver undertaking

In Vancouver, Protection of Trees By-law 9958 s.7.2(e) requires the arborist who certifies the development or building permit report, together with the owner, to give the City an undertaking that the arborist will perform or supervise pre-construction pruning, regular on-site inspections and a post-construction inspection.

We do not supervise construction, and we do not give that undertaking. A Vancouver development or building permit file needs an arborist who does. Ask us about your project and we tell you which parts of the file we can take.
